My lovely, lovely, wonderful friend Joia sent me a very sheepish and polite comment on facebook last night. She said, "If you get a chance, could you photograph the Charles Bridge? I've loved stories and descriptions of it, but I only have one photo of it."
Could I take photos of the Charles Bridge? Could I?
Oh Joia...this one's for you ;)

Dude. They have swan paddle boats! That is both awesome and cheesy.
O, mistress mine, where are you roaming?
O, stay and hear; your true love's coming,
That can sing both high and low:
Trip no further, pretty sweeting;
Journeys end in lovers meeting,
Every wise man's son doth know.
What is love? 'tis not hereafter;
Present mirth hath present laughter;
What's to come is still unsure.
In delay there lies no plenty;
Then come kiss me, sweet and twenty;
Youth's a stuff will not endure.

*Dies from the overwhelming love*
Oh, Anne-with-an-e! I'd do a happy dance, if it wouldn't likely end with me in a cast!
These are gorgeous shots. I've never seen it from those angles! Those supports - what odd angles and interesting construction!
And the sky behind that cross was gorgeous. The tourists on the bridge cracked me up! It looks like one of my cheezy festivals up there!
And that swan boat - ha!
But more than that - the way the bridge is framed by the gorgeous buildings was just spectacular.
You, pretty sweeting, are brilliant.
And your "You Want Bridges" line of course made me think of "The Doctor Dances."
I'm dying here, woman. You're just fantastic.
